Description

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy rolls filled with sweet strawberry jam and cinnamon, then topped with a creamy glaze. They offer a delightful fruity twist on the classic cinnamon roll, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Filling

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until the mixture is foamy, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Prepare Dough: Add the egg, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
  3. First Rise: Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape Dough: Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, preparing it for filling.
  5. Add Filling: Spread strawberry jam evenly across the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the jam.
  6. Form Rolls: Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into slices.
  7. Second Rise: Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 20 minutes.
  8. Bake Rolls: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until the rolls turn golden brown.
  9. Prepare Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create the glaze.
  10. Glaze Rolls: Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Fresh strawberries can be added to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Cream cheese frosting can be used instead of glaze for a richer topping.
