- 2 cans (5 oz / 142 g each) tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetables & Herbs
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 1/4 cup diced cucumber
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 1 jalapeño, finely diced
Garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Additional cilantro (optional)
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the spicy dressing: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, fresh lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Mix the tuna: Add the drained canned tuna to the dressing mixture and gently fold to combine without mashing the tuna too much.
- Add vegetables and herbs: Fold in finely diced red onion, cucumber, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro evenly into the tuna mixture for fresh crunch and flavor.
- Prepare tostadas: Spread the diced ripe avocado evenly over each crispy corn tostada shell, creating a creamy base layer.
- Assemble tostadas: Spoon the spicy tuna mixture generously on top of the avocado layer on each tostada shell.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and additional chopped cilantro over the top of each tostada. Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges for extra brightness.
Notes
- Add diced mango or pineapple to the tuna mixture for a sweet contrast to the spicy heat.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha and jalapeño to control the spiciness to your preference.
- For a fresher take, use sushi-grade fresh tuna diced and mixed appropriately instead of canned tuna.
- Assemble the tostadas just before serving to ensure the shells remain crispy and not soggy.
