Description

A soft and lightly sweet quick bread made with simple pantry ingredients, perfect for breakfast or a snack. This easy-to-make bread is fluffy with a tender crumb and pairs wonderfully with butter, jam, or honey.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan thoroughly to prevent the bread from sticking during baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined and uniform.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully incorporated.
  4. Blend Ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and tender.
  5. Transfer Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly for uniform baking.
  6. Bake Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in 1 teaspoon of cinnamon or the zest of one lemon to the dry ingredients.
  • This bread is best served warm with your favorite butter or fruit preserves for a comforting treat.
