Description

This simple meatball recipe is an easy and versatile homemade dish made with basic pantry ingredients. These meatballs are perfect for serving with pasta, sandwiches, or as appetizers, offering a classic Italian-inspired flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s ready to cook the meatballs evenly.
  2. Soak Breadcrumbs: In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let this mixture sit for 2–3 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the milk and become moist.
  3. Mix Meatball Ingredients: Add the ground beef, egg, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the breadcrumb mixture. Gently combine all ingredients without overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
  4. Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, approximately the size of a golf ball, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a non-stick surface.
  5. Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes or until they are fully cooked through and nicely browned on the outside.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite sauce or as part of a dish like pasta, subs, or as appetizers.

Notes

  • For extra moisture and richness, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the meatball mixture.
  • These meatballs freeze well and can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months, making them perfect for meal prep.
  • Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
