Description

A creamy and spicy Korean ramen dish combining the fiery flavor of Buldak noodles with a rich, indulgent carbonara-style sauce, creating a bold fusion of flavors that satisfies both spice lovers and creamy pasta enthusiasts.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack Samyang Buldak ramen
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, making sure to reserve a little of the cooking water before draining the noodles.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant and slightly golden to infuse the butter with garlic flavor.
  3. Prepare Cream Sauce: Add the heavy cream to the pan and gently simmer it to thicken slightly, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper, mixing well to create a creamy, cheesy sauce.
  5. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles along with the Buldak sauce packet to the pan, tossing everything thoroughly so the noodles are evenly coated with the spicy cream sauce.
  6. Finish with Egg Yolk: Remove the pan from heat and quickly stir in the egg yolk to add richness and creaminess without scrambling it.
  7. Adjust Consistency and Serve: If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved noodle water to loosen it up. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

  • Adjust the spiciness by using less of the Buldak sauce packet if desired.
  • For extra protein, add cooked chicken or crispy bacon during the garlic sauté step.
  • Be sure to stir in the egg yolk off the heat to prevent it from curdling and to maintain a creamy texture.
  • You can substitute Parmesan with Pecorino Romano for a sharper cheese flavor.
  • Reserve noodle water carefully as it helps in adjusting the sauce consistency and prevents it from becoming too thick or dry.
