Description

A rich and elegant salmon dish featuring pan-seared salmon fillets topped with a bright and tangy buttery lemon caper sauce, perfect for an impressive yet easy main course.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Lemon Caper Butter Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season Salmon: Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and black pepper on both sides to enhance their natural flavors.
  2. Heat Olive Oil: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat until hot but not smoking, preparing to sear the salmon.
  3. Cook Salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot pan. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without moving them to get a crispy skin, then carefully flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the fish is just cooked through. Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside on a warm plate.
  4. Prepare Sauce: In the same pan, add 3 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Add Capers and Lemon: Stir in the drained capers and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2 minutes to blend the flavors and slightly reduce.
  6. Finish Dish: Return the cooked salmon to the pan briefly to warm through, spooning the lemon caper butter sauce over the fillets to coat.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the salmon for a pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately, pairing beautifully with rice or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • Serve the salmon with rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Be careful not to overcook the salmon to maintain its tender and moist texture.
  • For a gluten-free version, all ingredients used are naturally gluten-free.
  • Allow the butter sauce to gently simmer to avoid burning the garlic.
