Description

Parmesan Roasted Red Pepper Chicken Bowties in Garlic Cream is a rich and comforting pasta dish featuring tender chicken, roasted red peppers, bowtie pasta, and a velvety garlic Parmesan cream sauce. It’s an easy, restaurant-quality dinner perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta

Chicken

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup of the pasta water for sauce adjustment.
  2. Season Chicken: In a bowl, season the chicken pieces with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper evenly.
  3. Sauté Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the seasoned chicken pieces for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  5. Add Red Peppers: Add the sliced roasted red peppers to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine flavors.
  6. Make Sauce: Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  7. Add Parmesan Cheese: Gradually whisk in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and thickened.
  8. Combine Chicken: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring it into the creamy sauce evenly.
  9. Toss Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat all ingredients with the sauce thoroughly. Use reserved pasta water as needed to adjust the sauce consistency.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the dish with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired for a touch of heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly and adds better texture compared to pre-shredded cheese.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables and to boost flavor complexity.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
