Description

One Pan Beef Stroganoff is a rich and creamy comfort food featuring tender ground beef, mushrooms, egg noodles, and a savory sour cream sauce—all cooked in one skillet for easy cleanup and maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Beef and Vegetables

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce and Noodles

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup sour cream

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oil: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add Flour: Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the beef and vegetable mixture and stir well to combine.
  6. Add Liquids and Seasonings: Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to incorporate everything evenly.
  7. Add Noodles and Simmer: Stir in the egg noodles, then bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  8. Cook Noodles: Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 10–12 minutes until the noodles are tender and have absorbed much of the sauce.
  9. Finish with Sour Cream: Remove the skillet from heat and gently stir in the sour cream to create a creamy sauce without curdling.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the stroganoff and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Stir the sour cream in after removing the pan from the heat to prevent curdling.
  • Ground turkey can be substituted for beef as a leaner alternative.
  • Serve with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables to complement the meal.
