Description

A quick and easy stir-fry made with tender ground beef, crisp broccoli florets, and a savory garlic-ginger sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights and better than takeout!

Ingredients

Ground Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef

Broccoli:

  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen, thawed)

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (or honey)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

Additional:

  • Cooked white rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds & sliced green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  4. Stir-fry broccoli: Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Make sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. Pour over beef and broccoli.
  6. Thicken sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens and coats everything (about 2–3 minutes).
  7. Serve: Serve hot over rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for a leaner version.
  • Use frozen broccoli for convenience; just thaw and pat dry before cooking.
  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or sriracha to the sauce.
