Description

Tender sirloin steak cubes are marinated in a flavorful Asian-inspired blend, then grilled to juicy perfection on skewers and served alongside a rich, creamy peanut curry dipping sauce. This dish combines the smoky char of grilled beef with the sweet and spicy notes of peanut curry, making it an ideal meal for entertaining or simple weeknight grilling.

Ingredients

Steak Marinade

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Peanut Curry Sauce

  • ½ cup natural peanut butter
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon red curry paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Warm water, as needed to adjust consistency

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, lime juice, garlic, ginger, paprika, and black pepper. Toss the sirloin steak cubes in this marinade until thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to infuse.
  2. Prepare Peanut Curry Sauce: While the steak marinates, whisk together peanut butter, coconut milk, red curry paste, soy sauce, honey, and lime juice in a bowl until smooth. Add warm water gradually to reach a pourable, creamy consistency. Set aside.
  3. Thread Steak onto Skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Then, skewer the marinated steak cubes evenly, leaving slight spaces between pieces for even cooking.
  4. Grill the Skewers: Preheat the grill to high heat. Place skewers on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning once, aiming for medium-rare doneness. Adjust cooking time if you prefer your steak more or less cooked.
  5. Serve: Remove the grilled steak skewers and arrange on a serving platter. Serve immediately with the creamy peanut curry sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning.
  • This dish pairs well with jasmine rice or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Adjust the curry paste and honey in the sauce to balance spiciness and sweetness according to your taste.
  • For easier grilling, make sure the steak pieces are uniformly sized to ensure even cooking.
