Description
Elegant gingerbread latte mousse domes combining warm gingerbread spices with rich coffee flavor, creating a festive no-bake dessert ideal for holiday entertaining.
Ingredients
For the Mousse
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Whip the cream: In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream using an electric mixer until it reaches stiff peaks. This will provide the mousse its light and airy texture.
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar, instant espresso powder, molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined, infusing the mousse with warm gingerbread and coffee flavors.
- Fold in whipped cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula to maintain the airiness and create a smooth mousse texture.
- Fill the molds: Spoon the mousse mixture evenly into silicone dome molds, smoothing the tops for an elegant presentation.
- Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer and chill for at least 4 hours to set the mousse firmly.
- Unmold and serve: Carefully remove the mousse domes from the silicone molds and serve chilled. Optionally, garnish with cocoa powder or crushed cookies for added texture and decoration.
Notes
- For easier unmolding, briefly dip the silicone molds in warm water before popping out the mousse domes.
- Garnish with a dusting of cocoa powder, crushed gingersnap cookies, or a drizzle of molasses for extra flavor and presentation.
- This mousse is best served chilled but can be stored in the freezer for up to one week.
- Use instant espresso powder for a quick and authentic coffee flavor without brewing coffee.
