Description

Stuffed Mushrooms are savory, bite-sized appetizers featuring large button mushrooms filled with a rich mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, cream cheese, herbs, and garlic. Baked until golden and tender, they make an ideal flavorful party snack or starter.

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 20 large button mushrooms

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the mushrooms evenly.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Remove the stems from the mushrooms and finely chop the stems to use in the filling.
  3. Sauté Filling Base: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the chopped mushroom stems and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Mix Filling: Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Stuff Mushrooms: Spoon the prepared mixture generously into each mushroom cap, filling them completely.
  6. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased to prevent sticking.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is golden brown on top.
  8. Serve Warm: Remove from oven and serve the stuffed mushrooms warm as a delicious appetizer or party snack.

Notes

  • You can add cooked sausage or crab meat to the filling for a heartier version.
  • Panko breadcrumbs can be used instead of regular breadcrumbs to achieve a crispier texture.
