Description

Juicy steak bites cooked in rich garlic butter alongside colorful vegetables. This quick one-pan meal is hearty, flavorful, and satisfying, perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Steak

  • 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Cooking Fats

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Vegetables

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 zucchini, sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the steak: Season the sirloin steak cubes evenly with salt, black pepper, and dried thyme to infuse flavor.
  2. Heat the skillet: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil, allowing it to heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear the steak bites: Add the seasoned steak cubes to the skillet without overcrowding. Sear them for 2–3 minutes until nicely browned on the outside, then remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not burnt.
  5. Cook the vegetables: Add the broccoli florets, sliced red bell pepper, and zucchini to the skillet. Cook the veggies for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender-crisp.
  6. Combine steak and veggies: Return the seared steak bites to the skillet and toss everything together to coat the meat and vegetables thoroughly in the garlic butter sauce.
  7. Finish cooking and serve: Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through and meld flavors. Serve immediately while hot for best taste.

Notes

  • Avoid overcrowding the pan when searing steak to ensure a good, flavorful crust.
  • Asparagus or mushrooms make excellent vegetable alternatives or additions.
  • This dish is best enjoyed freshly cooked and hot for optimal flavor and texture.
