Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners to prepare for baking.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, whisking them together to distribute evenly.
- Whisk wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, large egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
- Combine wet and dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl and gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the muffins tender and fluffy.
- Fold in chocolate chips: Carefully fold in the chocolate chips into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed without overworking the batter.
- Fill muffin cups: Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full to allow room for rising during baking.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the muffins turn golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve: Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool slightly in the tin before transferring to a wire rack or serving warm.
Notes
- Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top of the muffins before baking for a more visually appealing, bakery-style finish.
- Do not overmix the batter to avoid dense or tough muffins; mixing until just combined yields the best texture.
