Ingredients
Meat & Protein
- 1 pound ground beef
Pasta & Grains
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (such as elbow macaroni)
Vegetables & Aromatics
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Dairy
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Liquids & Oils
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
Condiments & Spices
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat Oil and Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant, ensuring it does not burn.
- Brown Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until fully browned, breaking the meat apart as it cooks for even browning, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the Beef: Stir in ketchup, mustard, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the cooked beef. Mix well to combine all the flavors evenly.
- Add Pasta and Liquids: Pour in the uncooked pasta, beef broth, and milk. Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Simmer the Pasta: Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and has absorbed much of the liquid.
- Incorporate Cheese: Remove the skillet from heat, then stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts completely, forming a creamy sauce.
- Serve: Serve the cheeseburger pasta warm, garnished if desired with optional toppings.
