Description

Simple and flavorful baked chicken thighs with crispy skin and tender meat—a perfect easy weeknight dinner that is both satisfying and delicious.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 6 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)

Seasonings

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the chicken thighs.
  2. Prepare Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture for a crispier skin.
  3. Season Chicken: Rub the chicken thighs thoroughly with olive oil, then evenly sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder all over the skin and meat.
  4. Arrange on Baking Tray: Place the chicken thighs skin-side up on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the skin is golden and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F) to ensure they are fully cooked.
  6. Rest: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, switch the oven to broil and broil the chicken for 2–3 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Add vegetables like potatoes, carrots, or broccoli on the baking tray to make it a complete meal.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check doneness if possible to avoid undercooking.
