Description

These Crispy Avocado Fries are a delightful appetizer or snack featuring creamy avocado wedges coated in a crunchy, seasoned panko breadcrumb crust and baked to golden perfection. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they pair wonderfully with a variety of dipping sauces such as chipotle mayo or lime yogurt dip.

Ingredients

Avocado Fries

  • 2 firm ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare it for baking the avocado fries to a crispy golden finish.
  2. Slice the avocados: Cut the firm ripe avocados into wedges carefully to maintain their shape for coating and baking.
  3. Prepare the dredging stations: Place the flour in one bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and mix the panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a third bowl.
  4. Coat the avocado slices: Dredge each avocado wedge first in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it thoroughly with the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Arrange for baking: Place the coated avocado slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly spray them with cooking spray to help crisp them up.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the fries are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce such as chipotle mayo, ranch, or lime yogurt dip.

Notes

  • An air fryer can be used as an alternative cooking method at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes for a quicker, equally crispy result.
  • Choose firm avocados to ensure the slices hold their shape during the coating and baking process.
  • These fries pair excellently with dips like chipotle mayo, ranch dressing, or a zesty lime yogurt sauce for added flavor.
