Description

Creamy Steak Pasta combines tender, seared slices of sirloin or ribeye steak with fettuccine or penne pasta enveloped in a rich, garlicky cream sauce made from heavy cream, beef broth, and Parmesan cheese. This hearty and indulgent dish is perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner or a special occasion meal.

Ingredients

Pasta and Steak

  • 12 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak: Pat the steak slices dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides for maximum flavor.
  3. Sear the steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the steak slices and sear until nicely browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  5. Make the cream sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and beef broth, then stir in Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Combine pasta and steak: Return the cooked pasta and seared steak slices to the skillet. Toss everything well to coat the pasta and steak evenly with the cream sauce.
  8. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving to add a fresh, aromatic finish.

Notes

  • For best flavor, always use freshly grated Parmesan cheese rather than pre-grated varieties.
  • Optionally, add sliced mushrooms to the garlic sauté step for extra richness and texture.
  • This dish pairs well with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
  • Let the steak rest briefly after searing to keep it juicy before slicing.
