Description

Creamy Honey Mustard Chicken is a delicious skillet dish made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich and tangy honey mustard cream sauce. It’s quick to make and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • Chicken:

    • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Sauce:

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
    • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts: Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broth: Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Make the sauce: Stir in Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, honey, and paprika. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to combine.
  6. Thicken the sauce: Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for 3–4 more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Combine chicken and sauce: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier option.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • The sauce can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
