Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp dried parsley (or Italian seasoning)
Instructions
- Heat Oil: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for cooking the chicken.
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and onion powder for a balanced and flavorful base.
- Cook Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until they develop a golden crust and are cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to keep warm.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
- Add Broth: Pour 1 cup of chicken broth into the skillet and stir well, scraping up any browned bits stuck to the pan to add depth to the sauce.
- Melt Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet and whisk continuously until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the cream cheese sauce over them, and let everything simmer together for 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of dried parsley or Italian seasoning over the dish before serving warm.
Notes
- You can add fresh spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Serve the dish over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes to enjoy the creamy sauce fully.
