Description
A soft, buttery coffee cake layered with a cinnamon sugar swirl and topped with a crumbly streusel, perfect to enjoy alongside your morning coffee or as a delicious brunch treat.
Ingredients
Cake:
- ½ cup butter, softened
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 2 eggs
 - 1 cup sour cream
 - 2 cups flour
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 1 tsp baking soda
 - ½ tsp salt

Filling/Topping:
- ½ cup brown sugar
 - 2 tsp cinnamon
 - ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
 - Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy to create a smooth base for the batter.
 - Add Eggs and Sour Cream: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream until fully combined, ensuring a moist batter.
 - Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to evenly distribute the leavening agents and seasoning.
 - Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined to avoid overworking the batter.
 - Layer Batter and Cinnamon Mixture: Spread half of the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar and pecan mixture over the batter for the swirl layer.
 - Add Remaining Batter and Topping: Spread the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar and pecan topping evenly over the top.
 - Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, indicating the cake is fully cooked.
 - Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool slightly in the pan before slicing and serving, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or glazed for extra sweetness.

Notes
- Add a powdered sugar glaze for an extra touch of sweetness and moisture.
 - Optional chopped pecans add a nice texture but can be omitted or substituted with walnuts.
 - Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep the cake tender and soft.
 - This cake pairs perfectly with freshly brewed coffee or tea.
