Description

These chocolate covered donuts are soft, fluffy, and topped with a rich, glossy chocolate glaze. Perfect for a delightful breakfast treat or an indulgent dessert, these baked donuts combine classic vanilla-flavored dough with a luscious chocolate coating that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Donut Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Glaze

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan thoroughly to ensure the donuts don’t stick while baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, stirring to distribute evenly.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir gently until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Fill Donut Pan: Evenly spoon or pour the batter into the prepared donut pan cavities, filling each about ¾ full to allow room for rising.
  5. Bake the Donuts: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the donuts are set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Melt Chocolate Glaze: While the donuts bake, melt the chocolate chips, butter, and milk together in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
  7. Dip and Coat: Allow the donuts to cool completely. Then dip the tops of each donut into the warm chocolate glaze, letting the excess drip off for a neat coating.
  8. Set the Glaze: Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack or parchment paper and let the chocolate set before serving.

Notes

  • Add sprinkles on top of the chocolate glaze for festive decoration.
  • You can use dark, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate chips according to your preference.
  • These donuts are best eaten fresh to enjoy their soft texture and glossy glaze.
