Description
Cheesy Hamburger Rice Casserole is a comforting and easy-to-make baked dish featuring seasoned ground beef, tender long-grain rice, and a creamy, cheesy sauce perfectly blended for a hearty family dinner.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Seasonings
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- Brown Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain the excess grease thoroughly to avoid a greasy casserole.
- Combine Ingredients: Stir the uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper into the browned beef mixture until everything is evenly mixed.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking, then spread the beef and rice mixture evenly across the dish.
- Bake Covered: Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes, allowing the rice to absorb the liquid and cook through.
- Add Cheese and Finish Baking: Remove the foil carefully, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top, then return the casserole to the oven and bake uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before serving to help it set.
- For added texture and color, stir in peas or corn before baking.
