Description

Cheesiest Philly Sliders are loaded with tender seasoned steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and layers of gooey provolone and mozzarella cheese, all baked inside soft slider rolls brushed with garlic butter. They’re the perfect crowd-pleasing appetizer, game day snack, or easy family dinner.

Ingredients

Sliders

  • 12 slider rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Steak Filling

  • 1 pound (450 g) thinly sliced beef steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sliced onions and bell peppers until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add Steak and Garlic: Add minced garlic and the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Prepare Slider Rolls: Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls. Place the bottom half of the slider rolls in a baking dish to form the base.
  5. Layer Cheese and Steak: Layer half of the provolone cheese slices evenly over the bottom rolls. Spread the cooked steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the provolone layer.
  6. Add Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the steak, then add the remaining provolone cheese slices on top.
  7. Top and Butter: Place the top half of the slider rolls over the cheese and steak layers. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush this garlic butter mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
  8. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to meld the flavors and melt the cheese.
  9. Finish Baking Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 8-10 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve the sliders warm for an irresistible cheesy meal.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or sirloin for the most tender filling and authentic flavor.
  • Add mushrooms or jalapeños to the steak mixture for extra depth and spice.
  • Leftover sliders can be reheated in the oven or air fryer to retain their crispness and melted cheese texture.
