A creamy and indulgent fusion of Philly cheesesteak flavors with tender cheese tortellini, loaded with savory beef strips, sautéed peppers, onions, and a rich cheesy sauce, perfect for a comforting main dish.
Ingredients
Pasta
- 300 g cheese tortellini
Beef and Vegetables
- 250 g beef strips
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook Tortellini: Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Brown Beef: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and cook the beef strips until nicely browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same pan, add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened and fragrant, about 4-5 minutes.
- Create Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the pan with the sautéed vegetables and bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Melt Cheese: Stir in the shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese until it melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef strips and the drained tortellini to the pan. Toss everything together carefully to coat the tortellini and beef evenly with the cheesy sauce.
- Serve: Serve the cheesesteak tortellini dish hot, garnishing as desired for a rich and flavorful meal.
Notes
- Use provolone cheese for a more authentic Philly cheesesteak flavor.
- Add mushrooms along with the peppers and onions for extra depth and umami.
- Adjust salt and pepper according to taste to balance the rich flavors.
