Description
Juicy shrimp skewers brushed with rich brown butter and infused with fragrant rosemary, creating a simple yet elegant seafood dish perfect for grilling or roasting.
Ingredients
Shrimp Skewers
- 500 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
Brown Butter Sauce
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Skewers: Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 10 minutes if using wooden ones to prevent burning during cooking. Then thread the peeled and deveined shrimp onto the skewers, evenly distributing them.
- Make Brown Butter: In a small pan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook it until it develops a golden brown color and nutty aroma, about 3-4 minutes. Be careful not to burn the butter.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the finely chopped fresh rosemary, minced garlic, and lemon juice into the browned butter to infuse the sauce with aromatic flavors.
- Brush and Season: Generously brush the shrimp skewers with the prepared brown butter mixture. Then season them with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Cook Shrimp: Preheat a grill or oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the shrimp skewers on the grill or baking tray and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the shrimp are pink and opaque, indicating that they are cooked through.
- Finish and Serve: Brush the cooked shrimp skewers with any remaining brown butter before serving to enhance the rich flavors.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes to the brown butter mixture if you prefer a slight heat.
