Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 24–30 cooked meatballs (beef, turkey, or chicken; frozen or homemade)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
Optional Garnish
- Chopped parsley or green onions
- Toothpicks for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, honey or brown sugar if using, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Stovetop Cooking: Place the cooked meatballs in a large skillet over medium heat. Pour the prepared barbecue sauce mixture over the meatballs and stir gently to coat them evenly. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is glossy and slightly thickened.
- Slow Cooker Cooking: Place the cooked meatballs in the slow cooker. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the meatballs and stir to coat evenly. Cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours or on HIGH for 1 to 1½ hours, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking and coating.
- Serve: Once heated through, transfer the meatball bites to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired, and serve with toothpicks for easy party snacking.
Notes
- Use sugar-free BBQ sauce for a low-sugar option.
- Keep warm in the slow cooker on the ‘warm’ setting during parties to maintain temperature without overcooking.
- These BBQ Meatball Bites pair perfectly with toothpicks for easy serving at gatherings.
- To accommodate dietary restrictions, select gluten-free meatballs and sauces if needed.
