Ingredients
For the Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, sliced
For the Avocado Mash
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for baking the salmon evenly.
- Prepare the Salmon: Brush each salmon fillet with olive oil, then season evenly with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to infuse the fish with flavor.
- Bake with Lemon: Arrange lemon slices over the top of each fillet to add a citrusy aroma, then place the salmon in the oven. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Mash the Avocado: While the salmon bakes, peel and pit the avocados. Mash them in a bowl and mix in lime juice, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until creamy and well combined.
- Assemble and Serve: Spread a generous layer of avocado mash onto serving plates, then top each with a baked salmon fillet. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
Notes
- Add red pepper flakes to the avocado mash for a spicy kick.
- Pair this dish with roasted vegetables or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
- Best served fresh to enjoy the creamy texture of the avocado and tender salmon.
