Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas (or mixed vegetables)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef over medium heat in a large skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Once browned and fully cooked, drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 5-7 minutes until well combined and heated through.
- Add frozen peas (or other vegetables) to the mixture and remove the skillet from heat.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly in the bottom.
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef mixture, covering the entire surface.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
