Ingredients
Pizza Base
- 1 pizza dough
Sauce
- 1/2 cup marinara or white sauce
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup spinach or arugula
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
Eggs
- 3–4 eggs
Seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (246°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to bake the pizza perfectly and set the eggs properly.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, creating a base for the toppings.
- Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread 1/2 cup of marinara or white sauce over the rolled-out dough, ensuring coverage to enhance flavor.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then scatter 1/2 cup of fresh spinach or arugula and 1/4 cup diced bell pepper evenly atop the cheese layer.
- Add Eggs: Carefully crack 3 to 4 eggs directly over the pizza, spacing them out so each egg has room to cook without merging.
- Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the eggs are set to your preferred doneness and the crust has turned golden brown and crisp.
- Season and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and season with salt and pepper to taste. Slice and serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For extra protein, add cooked bacon or sausage before adding the eggs.
- If you prefer firmer egg yolks, consider baking the eggs separately and placing them on the pizza after baking.
- Feel free to use either marinara or white sauce based on your taste preference.
- Fresh greens like spinach or arugula can be substituted with kale or basil for variation.
- Use a pizza stone if available to achieve a crispier crust.
