Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 eggs
Dry Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar (or preferred sweetener)
- ½ cup flour (or almond flour for gluten-free option)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the brownies evenly.
- Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate chips together, either using a microwave in short bursts or over a double boiler, then whisk until smooth.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Whisk the eggs and sugar (or sweetener) into the melted butter and chocolate mixture until fully combined and smooth.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in the flour (or almond flour), cinnamon, and a pinch of cayenne pepper until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
- Prepare Pan and Bake: Pour the batter into a lined baking pan, spreading evenly, then bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownies are just set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool before cutting into 12 squares. Optionally, dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle sea salt for a gourmet finishing touch.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute regular flour with almond flour.
- Dust finished brownies with cocoa powder and a pinch of sea salt to enhance the chocolate flavor and add a gourmet touch.
- If you prefer less heat, reduce the cayenne pepper or omit it altogether.
- Use a high-quality dark chocolate for the richest flavor and smooth texture.
