Description

Creamy mashed potatoes infused with roasted garlic and fresh rosemary, creating a simple yet elegant side dish perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed

Flavorings

  • 4 cloves garlic, roasted
  • 1 tsp rosemary, chopped

Dairy & Seasonings

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup milk or cream
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil Potatoes: Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes thoroughly.
  2. Mash with Flavorings: In a mixing bowl, mash the hot potatoes together with the roasted garlic cloves, butter, and milk or cream until smooth and creamy. Stir in the chopped rosemary evenly throughout the mash.
  3. Season: Taste the mashed potatoes and season generously with salt and freshly cracked black pepper according to your preference. Mix well to combine all flavors.
  4. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy as a delicious side to your main course.

Notes

  • Use Yukon Gold potatoes for extra creaminess and natural buttery flavor.
  • Roast garlic in advance by wrapping cloves in foil and baking at 400°F (204°C) for 30-35 minutes until soft.
  • For a richer mash, substitute cream for milk or add a splash of sour cream.
  • Fresh rosemary adds a fragrant herbal note; dried rosemary can be used but use about half the amount as it is more concentrated.
