Description

A festive and flavorful holiday ham glazed with a tangy and sweet mixture of cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, honey, and apple cider vinegar, roasted to perfection with a sticky, caramelized finish that makes it perfect for Christmas or any holiday celebration.

Ingredients

Ham:

  • 1 fully cooked ham (810 lb)

Glaze:

  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp cloves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) to prepare for roasting the ham evenly.
  2. Score the Ham: Using a sharp knife, score the ham in a diamond pattern all over the surface to allow the glaze to penetrate and to create a beautiful presentation. Place the scored ham in a roasting pan.
  3. Prepare Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together the cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, and cloves (if using) until well combined.
  4. Apply Glaze: Generously brush the prepared glaze all over the ham, making sure to coat it thoroughly for maximum flavor.
  5. Roast the Ham: Place the ham in the preheated oven and roast for 1½ to 2 hours, basting the ham with additional glaze every 30 minutes to keep it moist and flavorful.
  6. Caramelize the Glaze: For a beautifully sticky and caramelized finish, switch the oven to broil and broil the ham for 2–3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.

Notes

  • Use leftover glaze as a delicious dipping sauce to accompany the ham slices.
  • This glaze works well with both spiral-cut and bone-in hams, making it a versatile holiday recipe.
