Description

A refreshing and aromatic iced tea combining black tea, zesty lemon, and subtle vanilla for a sophisticated twist on traditional iced tea. Perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 4 black tea bags (or 4 teaspoons of loose leaf black tea)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add the black tea bags or loose leaf tea. Let the tea steep for about 5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired strength.
  2. After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags (or strain out the loose leaf tea). Stir in the honey or sugar until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool for a few minutes.
  3. Once the tea has cooled slightly, stir in the vanilla extract and add the thinly sliced lemon. Give the tea a gentle stir to combine the flavors.
  4. Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until it is cold.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemon vanilla black tea over the ice. Garnish with additional lemon slices or a sprig of mint, if desired.

Notes

  • Sweeten to your taste, adjusting the amount of honey or sugar.
  • For extra flavor, add fresh mint or basil leaves while the tea is cooling.
  • This tea can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
  • For a lower-calorie version, substitute honey with a sugar substitute or stevia.
