Description

Savory and tender Korean beef bulgogi marinated in soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil. A quick, flavorful dish perfect for weeknight dinners

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef ribeye (or sirloin)

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 small pear or apple, grated (optional, for tenderizing)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and black pepper.

  • Stir in grated pear/apple (if using).

  • Add beef slices, onion, and green onions; mix well to coat.

  • Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best flavor).

  • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  • Cook beef in batches until browned and cooked through (about 3–5 minutes).

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve hot with steamed rice or lettuce wraps.

Notes

  • For authentic bulgogi, use thinly shaved ribeye.

  • Marinating overnight enhances tenderness and flavor.

  • Serve with kimchi, rice, or in lettuce wraps for a traditional Korean meal.
