Description
Honey Garlic Chicken Breast is a quick and flavorful dish made with juicy pan-seared chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners, it’s easy, delicious, and pairs well with rice or vegetables.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook chicken breasts for 6–7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir to combine and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- If using, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl to make a slurry. Add to the sauce and stir until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve warm.
Notes
- Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally for quicker cooking if they are thick.
- This dish goes great with steamed rice, noodles, or stir-fried vegetables.
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in a bit of the sauce before cooking.
