Description
A Southern-style classic with juicy peaches bubbling beneath a buttery, golden biscuit topping — simple, rustic, and irresistible.
Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 5 cups sliced fresh or canned peaches (drained)
 - ½ cup sugar
 - 1 tbsp lemon juice
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - ½ tsp cinnamon

For the Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 1 tbsp baking powder
 - ¼ tsp salt
 - ¾ cup milk
 - ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 °F (190 °C) to prepare for baking the cobbler.
 - Prepare Peach Filling: In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Stir well to evenly coat the peaches and set aside to let the flavors meld.
 - Make the Batter: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Then slowly add the milk and melted butter, mixing until you achieve a smooth batter.
 - Assemble the Cobbler: Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish. Pour the batter evenly into the dish, then spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
 - Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.
 - Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful dessert.
