Description

This easy dinner recipe with ground beef combines flavorful herbs, tomatoes, and beef broth for a hearty, quick meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the beef, if necessary. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
  4. Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then serve hot.
