Crispy pan-fried potstickers filled with a flavorful ginger sesame ground chicken mixture, paired with a sweet chili pomegranate dipping sauce. Ingredients
Filling:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt & pepper to taste
Dipping Sauce:
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tbsp pomegranate juice
- 1 tsp soy sauce
Other:
- 24 potsticker wrappers
- Oil for frying (such as vegetable or canola oil)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Assemble potstickers: Place a potsticker wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about one teaspoon of the chicken filling into the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half to form a half-moon shape and firmly seal the edges by pinching or pleating to ensure the filling is enclosed.
- Pan-fry and steam potstickers: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to coat the bottom. Arrange the potstickers in the skillet without overlapping and fry them for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy. Carefully add about ¼ cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid to steam the potstickers. Let them steam for 4 to 5 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the chicken is fully cooked.
- Prepare dipping sauce: While the potstickers cook, mix together the sweet chili sauce, pomegranate juice, and soy sauce in a small bowl until combined.
- Serve and garnish: Transfer the cooked potstickers to a serving plate, garnish with sesame seeds if desired, and serve warm alongside the sweet chili pomegranate dipping sauce.
Notes
- If potsticker wrappers are unavailable, wonton wrappers can be used as a substitute.
- Potstickers can be assembled and frozen before cooking for later use; cook directly from frozen by extending steaming time slightly.
