Indulge in the rich flavors of this creamy garlic Parmesan mussels recipe, where tender mussels are bathed in a luxurious buttery sauce with heavy cream and Parmesan, heightened by the freshness of parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Ingredients
Mussels:
- 1 pound mussels, cleaned

Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 cup heavy cream
 - ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
 - 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
 - Salt and pepper, to taste

Additional:
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions
- Clean the Mussels: Thoroughly clean the mussels, discarding any with broken shells or those that remain open.
 - Prepare the Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add cream, simmer, then melt Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
 - Cook the Mussels: Add cleaned mussels to the sauce, cover, and cook until opened, about 5–7 minutes. Discard unopened mussels.
 - Finish and Serve: Sprinkle parsley over the mussels, gently stir, and serve with lemon wedges. Squeeze fresh lemon juice before enjoying.

Notes
- Add red chili flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
 - Substitute dry white wine for some cream for added acidity.
 - Enhance garlic content or use garlic paste for intensified flavor.
 - Experiment with fresh basil or tarragon in place of parsley for a different taste.
 - Reheat mussels gently to preserve tenderness; avoid boiling.
