Description
A classic deli tuna salad made with tender tuna, creamy dressing, and crisp vegetables. Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or on a bed of greens for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or dill for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, drain the canned tuna and break it up into chunks with a fork.
- Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice to the tuna. Stir well to combine and create a creamy dressing that coats the tuna.
- Add the finely chopped red onion, celery, and sweet pickle relish (if using). Stir everything together until well combined.
- Taste the tuna salad and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. You can also add more mustard or relish depending on your preference.
- Serve immediately on a bed of lettuce, as a sandwich on whole grain bread, in a wrap, or with crackers. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired.
Notes
- For a creamy twist, add diced avocado or a spoonful of sour cream.
- If you prefer a spicier version, add hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
- To make it healthier, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise.
- This salad can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and will taste even better the next day.
