Description

Crispy and delicious dessert egg rolls filled with sweet bananas and melted chocolate, perfect for a quick treat. These banana egg rolls can be air-fried or baked to golden perfection, resulting in a delightful combination of crunchy exterior and gooey interior.

Ingredients

Egg Rolls

  • 4 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 bananas, halved
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or Nutella

Finishing

  • Oil or melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wrappers: Lay an egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface, oriented like a diamond shape with a point facing you.
  2. Add filling: Place one half of a banana near the bottom corner of the wrapper, then drizzle about a tablespoon of chocolate chips or Nutella over the banana.
  3. Roll and fold: Fold the two side corners inward over the banana and chocolate to enclose the filling, then roll the wrapper tightly from the bottom upwards to form a sealed egg roll. Use a bit of water to seal the top corner if needed.
  4. Brush with oil or butter: Lightly brush each rolled egg roll with oil or melted butter on all sides to ensure a crispy golden finish.
  5. Cook: Preheat your air fryer or oven to 375°F (190°C). If air frying, place the egg rolls in a single layer in the basket and cook for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy. If baking, arrange them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove from cooking and serve warm. Pair with caramel sauce or a scoop of ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert.

Notes

  • Add peanut butter inside the wrapper along with banana and chocolate for extra flavor and richness.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the outside before cooking for a sweet, spiced crust.
  • Best enjoyed warm straight from the oven or air fryer to retain the gooey chocolate texture.
