Description

A warm, cheesy, ultra-creamy spinach and artichoke dip loaded with tender spinach, artichoke hearts, and rich cheeses. This crowd-pleasing appetizer is better than restaurant-style and can be easily prepared in the oven, slow cooker, or on the stovetop for versatile serving options.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped

Dairy & Cheese

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Seasonings

  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
  • Optional: lemon zest for brightness

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the dip to a bubbly, golden finish.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the sautéed garlic, thawed and drained spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the blend is smooth and well combined.
  4. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the mixed ingredients into a baking dish, smoothing the top evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
  5. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly around the edges and lightly golden on top.
  6. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the dip warm with your choice of tortilla chips, pita bread, fresh veggies, or sliced baguette.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half the cream cheese with Greek yogurt to reduce fat and add tanginess.
  • Increase heat by adding jalapeños or extra crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • To make this recipe dairy-free, use vegan cream cheese, vegan cheeses (mozzarella and parmesan), and dairy-free sour cream alternatives.
  • To keep the dip warm during parties, transfer it to a slow cooker and keep on low heat for serving convenience.
