Ingredients
Pasta:
- 12 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
 
Chicken:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
 - 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
 - 1 tsp salt
 - ½ tsp black pepper
 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
 
Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
 - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
 - 2 cups chicken broth
 - 1 cup heavy cream
 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)
 - ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
 
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Cook pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.
 - Cook Chicken: Season chicken and cook until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
 - Make Sauce: Sauté garlic in butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer until thickened.
 - Add Cheese: Stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth.
 - Combine: Return chicken to skillet, add pasta, and toss until coated in sauce.
 - Garnish: Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.

- Add spinach, broccoli, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and color.
 - Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version.
