Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked wild rice, shredded chicken, sliced mushrooms, chopped onions, diced carrots, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme if using. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
- Arrange in baking dish: Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish, spreading it into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly on top of the casserole.
- Bake the casserole: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the casserole uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top, and the casserole is heated through.
