Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 (14 oz) can tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Creamy Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)

Pasta:

  • 1 lb pasta (penne, rigatoni, or rotini work best)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
  2. Sauté Ground Beef: Brown ground beef and onion in olive oil in a skillet. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add Flavors: Stir in garlic, tomato paste, tomato sauce, seasonings, and beef broth. Simmer.
  4. Create Creamy Sauce: Lower heat and add heavy cream, simmer until thickened.
  5. Combine: Add drained pasta to the skillet, toss with Parmesan cheese. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water.
  6. Season & Garnish: Season with salt and pepper, garnish with parsley or basil.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey, chicken, or sausage for variation.
  • For extra richness, stir in 2 oz cream cheese with the cream.
