Description

This Chicken Spaghetti with Burrata and Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce is a creamy, rich, and flavorful pasta dish. Tender chicken, perfectly cooked spaghetti, and smooth burrata are combined with a zesty lemon butter garlic sauce for a comforting, indulgent meal that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or oregano)

For the Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or pasta water)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Spaghetti:

  • 8 oz spaghetti (or preferred pasta)

  • Salt, for boiling pasta water

For Garnish:

  • 2 large burrata balls

  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  • Cook the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried Italian herbs. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove from heat and let it rest before slicing it into thin strips.

  • Cook the Spaghetti:
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, usually 9-11 minutes for al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.

  • Prepare the Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce:
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, red pepper flakes (if using), and chicken broth (or pasta water). Stir and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the lemon butter garlic sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce, adding the reserved pasta water if needed to create a smooth, creamy texture.

  • Assemble the Dish:
Plate the pasta and top with sliced chicken. Tear the burrata into chunks and place on top of the pasta, allowing the creamy cheese to melt into the hot pasta. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

  • Serve and Enjoy:
Serve immediately while hot and enjoy the rich and comforting flavors of this creamy, lemony pasta dish!

Notes

  • Substitute for Burrata: If you can’t find burrata, fresh mozzarella is a great alternative.

  • Add Veggies: You can add some sautéed spinach, roasted cherry tomatoes, or steamed asparagus to the dish for extra flavor and color.

  • For Extra Creaminess: Stir in a tablespoon or two of heavy cream or crème fraîche into the sauce for a richer texture.

  • Chicken Options: You can also use grilled chicken or rotisserie chicken for a quicker meal.
