Description

Caramel Apple Tiramisu is a fall-inspired twist on the classic Italian dessert. Layers of spiced apples, creamy mascarpone filling, and ladyfingers soaked in apple cider come together with a rich drizzle of caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 68 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup apple cider (for soaking)
  • 1 (8 oz) container mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package ladyfinger cookies
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until apples are tender and caramelized, about 10–12 minutes. Let cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold into the mascarpone mixture to create a light, fluffy filling.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the apple cider (don’t soak too long) and layer them in the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Top with half of the caramelized apples and drizzle with caramel sauce.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, apples, and more caramel drizzle.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Before serving, drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for balance against the sweet caramel.
  • Make the night before for best texture and flavor.
  • You can substitute cream cheese for mascarpone if needed.
