Description

Baked Nectarines with Cinnamon Honey Sauce is a simple yet elegant dessert featuring tender nectarines roasted in a warm honey-cinnamon glaze, served with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream for the perfect contrast of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

3 nectarines, halved and pitted

¼ cup honey

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Vanilla ice cream (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Arrange nectarines cut-side up in the dish.
  4. Spoon the cinnamon honey sauce over each nectarine, allowing it to fill the centers and surround the fruit.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until nectarines are tender and sauce is bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven, top each half with vanilla ice cream if using, and drizzle with remaining pan juices before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute nectarines with ripe peaches or plums for variety.
  • For a richer sauce, stir in 1 tablespoon of melted butter before baking.
  • Add chopped almonds or pecans for crunch.
  • Include a pinch of cardamom or ginger for extra spice depth.
