Description

Juicy Italian-style meatballs simmered in a rich, creamy Alfredo sauce — comforting, cheesy, and perfect over pasta or rice. This hearty dish combines flavorful meatballs with a luscious Alfredo sauce, making it a satisfying main course for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey with breadcrumbs, egg, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Form the Meatballs: Roll the mixture into 1-inch sized meatballs, ensuring they are evenly sized for consistent cooking.
  3. Cook the Meatballs: Either bake the meatballs in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes or pan-sear them over medium heat in a skillet until browned on all sides and cooked through, approximately 10-12 minutes.
  4. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  5. Simmer the Sauce: Add the heavy cream to the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  6. Add Cheese and Season: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper, mixing until the cheese melts smoothly into the sauce.
  7. Toss Meatballs in Sauce: Add the cooked meatballs to the Alfredo sauce, gently tossing to coat them evenly. Cook together for another 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Notes

  • For added color and nutrition, mix in spinach or peas when tossing meatballs in the sauce.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with fettuccine, spaghetti, or steamed rice for a complete meal.
  • Serve with garlic bread to soak up the creamy Alfredo sauce.
  • Ground turkey is a leaner alternative to beef if you prefer a lighter version.
  • Ensure not to overcook the garlic in the sauce to avoid bitterness.
